Our policy is that all small animal fees must be paid at the time of consultation or operation and on collection of any drugs, food etc. We do not run small animal accounts. If there are any
issues with immediate payment please discuss this with one of the vets and, if appropriate, a repayment plan can be drawn up.
For insured animals we request payment at the time of treatment where possible and we then claim the cost back with the insurance company reimbursing the owner after they have processed the
claim. We only consider direct claims on an individual basis where the owners financial status would restrict the animals right to the best treatment. This is because, firstly, we are a small
practice and do not have a large administration department to process such claims. Secondly, we have had experience of problems with direct claims as our ability to communicate with the insurance
company is restricted by data protection laws and we have no way of telling if the policy is fully valid with all required premiums paid at the time of treatment.
Equine and farm clients are invoiced at the month end with payment requested within 28 days of the invoice date.
